Two offers here:
I give Roy Oswalt, I get David Ortiz
I give Placido Polanco/Chris Reitsma, I get Justin Morneau/Noah Lowry
Heading into Sunday's games, I'm strong in saves (2nd in league) and ERA (tied for 3rd). I'm also third in steals, and the guys ahead of me are STACKED, so I doubt I can make up any ground in SB's. But the reason I'm decidedly in ninth place? 16th out of 17 teams in homers. Ten jacks ahead of dead fucking last.
Here's my roster, though. (There's only one DL slot, mind you, and it's used by Rolen.)
C: Paul Lo Duca
1B: Dmitri Young
2B: Felipe Lopez
SS: Julio Lugo
3B: Chipper Jones
OF: Grady Sizemore, Jim Edmonds, Craig Monroe
Util: Jonny Gomes
Bench: Todd Helton (DL), Scott Rolen (DL), Alexis Rios, Placido Polanco
SP: Roy Oswalt, Bronson Arroyo, Kip Wells, Josh Beckett
RP: Braden Looper, Huston Street, Andy Sisco, Chris Reitsma, Aaron Heilman
Here's where I stand (standard-issue 5x5 roto) along with realistic expectations:
R: 8th (486, probably can't move up any higher than 7th)
HR: 16th (89, not sure how much better it can get, although there are five teams that are within 20 homers of me)
RBI: 10th (457, a good couple of weeks might get me into 7th)
SB: 3rd (76, and the battle is for third, as second has 113(!))
BA: 8th (.278, 3rd is eminently doable at .283)
W: 7th (49, can probably get into top three or four with a hot week or two)
SV: 2nd (75, 1st is 92)
K: 12th (538, can probably get into top 10)
ERA: T-3rd (3.68, maybe can take 2nd)
WHIP: T-8th (1.31, can realistically move up to 5th)
I'd link, but it's a private league. The teams ahead of me in HR are as follows:
89 (me), 96, 102, 102, 103, 109, 114, 119.
Would the trades be worth it? I don't know that I can make up enough ground to make a big difference at this stage in the game.
